Book recommendation by Mr Newman - Cat Kid Comic Club

Title: Cat Kid Comic Club

Author & illustrator: Dav Pilkey

Good morning, GRANTMONTeers! Today, I want to tell you about a great book called Cat Kid Comic Club by Dav Pilkey. He is also the author who wrote Dog Man and Captain Underpants! Another amazing thing is that he is both the author and illustrator of this book.

What is the book about? Cat Kid starts a comic club with 21 baby frogs! They need to work together to make comics but it isn’t so easy. Some frogs cry. Some don’t agree on the idea of the comic. And some just rip up the paper! It's chaos but it is also very funny. But there is something special about this book. You can read the mini-comics the baby frogs make. They are all very interesting and use different styles. I was inspired.

The message of the book is that you don't have to a be a great drawer. What matters most is your idea, your characters and your story. Be creative! Give it a try!  The book shows us the fun of being creative and working as a team to make something special, like a new comic! It may be tough but if you are persistent and don’t give up, you can do it!

I hope you will read this book and enjoy it too! Maybe you will make your own comic club.
